ART - STONE

The Belgian grey marble torso is one of the hardest stones carved by Miller. The artist assures us that it will be around when we are all long since gone. Mike says live life, pursue your passions and try to finish what you start. This piece is currently in a private collection.

This eight inch Pentelic marble mask in many ways defines the artist working style. It lives up to it's reductivist intentions. This crystalline pure white stone was used by the artist to stop bleeding from minor cuts. The artist felt the ideals of love for humanity and his anti war philosophy are the foundation of this small but powerful carving. It is for sale at 5 thousand dollars.

This sublime female torso was created over a two year period from African stone. Mike made all his own tools for this and used river rock for polishing. This piece is in the process of being cast into bronze, if you are interested you can join in the process by ordering one of the limited bronzes.

This seahorse was carved from a rare piece of Italian marble. From the moment the artist first saw this stone in quarry he felt it's power. The stone had to be shipped from Siena to Brooklyn, then to his studio in lower Manhattan. The artist found crystals and petrified sea animals within the stone. The marble spoke to him of the ocean and the milleniums it took to create. Mike likes to call this artwork ""The Magic Seahorse Riding The Ocean of Sorrow"". This rare Sienese marble is a testament to the enduring nature of the artist and the stone itself. His title suggests a spiritual path that we all must tread in facing the challenges of time itself.
